Hope Worship – November 26, 2023

“From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.” Our Gospel reading from Matthew 25 reminds us before whose glorious throne all the world will stand. Infinitely more important than the court of public opinion is the verdict spoken over us by King Jesus. For those who live by faith in Him and love for His brothers, even the least, that day will be a day of joy. For those who reject the King, that day will be overwhelmingly tragic. May God bless us to live to the glory of the one true King. Today’s message is “Preparing for the End: Before the Throne of the King,” based on Matthew 25:31-46.

Hope Worship – November 19, 2023

As we continue the series “Preparing for the End,” we turn our attention from the death of the individual believer to the end of the present age – what the Bible calls “The Day of the Lord.” On one hand, it will come suddenly and unexpectedly, like a thief. And yet, the people of God can be prepared as we live protected by faith and love, with minds covered by the helmet that is the hope of salvation. For those who are in Christ, that day is a day of great joy! Today’s message is “Preparing for the End: The Day of the Lord,” based on 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11.

Hope Worship – November 12, 2023

As the church year winds down, we begin a three-week series called “Preparing for the End.” In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Paul addresses the topic of death for the Christian. Whether or not we like to think about it, our days are numbered! But for the child of God, there is hope that is stronger than the grave – Christ has guaranteed that through His own death and resurrection. In light of what Christ has done, how can we face death with hope, peace, and confidence? Today’s message is “Preparing for the End: Hope in the Face of Death,” based on 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

Hope Worship – November 5, 2023

On this All Saints Weekend, our readings from Revelation 7 and Matthew 5 give us the opportunity to consider what it means truly to be blessed by providing us both the description of God’s people in the present and the vision of God’s people when all has been accomplished. The multitude before the throne of God lives in the victory that Jesus has won for them after following Him in this life and participating in His sufferings. The saints experience by faith in this life and by sight in the age to come the truth of Psalm 16:11: “You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” Today’s message is “The Blessed Ones,” based on Revelation 7:9-17 and Matthew 5:1-12.
