In his classic song, Bob Dylan makes the case that no matter who we are, how high or low, we’re going to serve someone – “it may be the devil or it may be the Lord.” You wonder if Dylan was reading Romans 6 when he wrote his famous lyrics… Paul argues that everyone is a slave, either of sin or of righteousness. None of us gets to be His own lord (though the evil one would love to deceive us into believing so). So which master will we serve? By God’s grace, may it be the same Master Paul served. He was happy to be called a slave of Christ Jesus, because he knew that life was found in knowing Jesus as Lord. Today’s message is “Gotta Serve Somebody,” based on Romans 6:12-23.
