Jesus calls Matthew out of the tax collector’s booth in Matthew 9 to follow Him. In this text, we see how far God will reach in His compassion. Jesus always calls sinners (because sinners are all that He has to choose from!). But with this calling of sinners comes the reality that God chooses people who have harmed other people. How do we trust God as He works on us to also work in the life of someone who has harmed us, but whom God wants to reconcile to Himself? Today’s message is “Jesus’ Compassion Calls Sinners,” based on Matthew 9:9-13.
