In Romans 6, Paul teaches us that we have been set free from sin to serve Christ. In Romans 7, he goes on to say that we’ve been set free from the Law through the body of Christ (His fulfilling of the Law and dying for us). That means that God’s Law is no longer the judge of life and death for us, for we are bound to Christ. So when we need to discover where hope is found, we don’t look inside and say, “How am I doing?” Rather, we look outside ourselves to Jesus and trust in what He has done, and take comfort that we are bound to Him. Today’s message is “A New Relationship with God’s Law,” based on Romans 7:1-13.
